Society has a way of making us all feel very insignificant when it comes to our bodies, the way that magazines and websites portray the human body is enough to put pressure on all of us to search for the ‘perfect’ body. Get Healthy

The perfect body is not one with a 6-pack of abs or huge biceps, the perfect body is a heathy body and as long as you are doing all that you can to keep your body in great condition then you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. Adding muscles or bulk to your body is a personal choice and whilst it will help you to feel great, it is not a prerequisite to a healthy body. When it comes to being healthy you need to be looking inside your body, are you getting sufficient nutrients? Are you eating too much fat? Are you drinking enough water? Do you have sufficient energy? Are you able to relax and cope with stress? These are the types of questions that you should be asking yourself when it comes to having a healthy body. If your body is healthy then your hangups are just cosmetic.

If there are any parts of your body that you perceive as ‘flawed’ then you can always look into the options of surgery. You could opt to go see a counsellor about your body image issues but the best place to start is with family and friends. The more that you guard problems like these in your mind, the more likelihood that you will create an even bigger problem in your head than actually exist. Seek out friends and family whose opinion you respect and speak to them about the hangups that you have with your body.
