Our mission
Helpalot is about making it easier to find charity projects you trust. We want to put a name and face to every project in the world.
Why
While big charities are all findable online, there was no place to find small charity initiatives and have information on their competence and good intentions. Many have knowledge they would like to share, Helpalot tries to make this information accessible and transparent for all.
How
It’s is a social network site with evaluations on charity projects. You can open your knowledge for others to use, by showing what charity projects your trust and support. Everyone can add projects for free and meet like minded people from all over the world.
Our vision
- It's not about the money. We feel it is about knowledge and putting small charity projects into context.
- We are neutral. While we personally have an opinion on problems like global warming, we want Helpalot to be the place where you find user generated content that is not colored by our personal views. It's up to the community to define what will create a better world. Helpalot is created to facilitate this.
- While we're happy to include big charities, we have a weak spot for small initiatives
- We will not put ads on Helpalot
www.Helpalot.org is based in The Netherlands and started in 2006 as the graduation project of Julius Huijnk. We have set up a foundation and are funded by personal donations.
