Hey guys!!!  If you do not already know, Systemic Lupus Erythmatosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that affects the major organs of the body, most commonly the skin, kidneys, lungs, and joints. To give you all the quick version of my story, I was diagnosed my freshman year of college in March of 2003.  My symptoms began with joint pain and rashes that covered my entire body.  At first I passed my symptoms off as stress and assumed they were due to my new environment. However, as I continued to ignore the symptoms they became more debilitating. I finally realized something was seriously wrong after I was unable to walk up stairs because the pain was so excruciating.  After numerous doctor appointments and tests, my symptoms were finally pinpointed to lupus.  I also found out that the lupus had caused a significant amount of damage to my kidneys.  I began a strict regimen of corticosteriods and immunosuppressants.  My current health has been excellent and I can happily say that I have not had a flare up in over 2 years.
There currently is no cure for lupus.  However, with the money you donate you will be contributing to finding the cause and a possible cure for lupus. :-)
Thanks for visiting my personal fundraising page. Donating to this site is simple, fast and totally secure.  It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
REMEMBER: Every penny counts! (even if it's a dollar)
***Special THANKS to all my family and friends who have always been so supportive. Love you guys!***
