Tax all income types for social security and kick the rich off it!, by Francis Pruett
We can save our public entitlements by kicking rich freeloaders off them and making sure every income contributes to their stability. Let us do so.
We can shore up our Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security entitleents by removing the cap on the payroll tax and generalizing the social security payroll levy to cover rent, capital gains and other income types.
We can also use means testing to prevent the rich from freeloading for their medical care and moching for unneeded social security. Let's set regional income limits on these benefits in the same way we do for unemployment, aid to families in need and other programs. Let's also make sure medical-coverage beneficiaries who retire don't sap our public benefits until their own are gone.
We can save these programs and not hurt anyone. We may even be able to provide the system with the resources to take care of everyone without all the duplicative programs.
