Keep the Pride, Stay the 'BOMBERS!'
This is a petition in response to the one entitled "Chnage the 'Bombers' back to the Beavers. There is a common misconception that by going by the name of the Richland Bombers that we are celebrating the death of hundreds of people. But that simply isn't true. We commeorate the efforts, the scientific strides, the end of the War, and the bravery of all of the American men who gave their lives to fight in the Second World War. There is a lot of be proud of. Yes, the A-Bomb killed many, but so did Pearl Harbor, and the rest of the war that was being fought. It was not geoncide. It was not a massecar. It was WAR. Tradgic? Yes. But Reality. With out the Manhattan Project, and the plutonium, Richland would be nonexistant, just another small town in the state of Washington. It is our history, it is our Pride, and as a Bomber I can say that I am Proud of the Cloud! As an outsider, I feel that you have no right to judge. The Richland Bombers represent a sence of community. Days Pay, and the B-17, are a sence of community. We are not bomb worshipers, we do not with to blow up people. We just want to honor the efforts and strides of the United States of America and its brave men and women who made it what it is today!GO BOMBERS!!!!!!!
