Getting to First Base with Social Media

Getting to First Base CoverDarren Barefoot and Julie Szabo have written an excellent introduction to using social media for marketing a business product or service. Their e-book, Getting to First Base: A Social Media Marketing Playbook, can also be used by communications or development directors and NPO consultants to build a nonprofit social media "marketing strategy."
For a nonprofit focus, I suggest combining the insights from this e-book with NetworkforGood's white paper on Wired Fundraising and my webinar slides on person-to-person fundraising tools.
The bad news is that the e-book isn't free. Have a look at these sample chapters before deciding to pay $29 for the download. The good news is that implementing the e-book's suggestions requires an excess of time, not money.
PS -- I'm promoting this e-book because I think its contents are worthwhile and well-written. I also want to support Darren and Julie, whose "traveling while consulting" lifestyle echoes my own professional direction. Originally from Vancouver, Darren and Julie are currently in Morocco.
