They say life comes at your rather fast.
With that in mind, the last thing you want is being bothered by unwanted calls and mail solicitations. When you throw in email pitches and even people coming to your door, it can get rather bothersome.
On the one hand, you might think it is great that you are so popular. In reality, you wish no one, especially those in the business world, had heard of you.
So, how do you go about putting an end to these interruptions in your daily life?
Take Control of who is Contacting You
Although all but impossible to get away from solicitations, there are steps to take.
Among the ways to go about this:
1. Phone solicitations
When it comes to bothersome phone calls, you might wish you did not have that device to begin with.
With those phone calls from solicitors, you can do a reverse phone search.
That search allows you to determine where in fact the calls are originating from. Once you’ve figured that out, you can block the numbers from reaching out to you again.
Although regulations placed over a decade ago on telemarketers, some companies still persist. If you determine you are being harassed, make sure to report the company.
2. Mail solicitations
Always be careful to avoid signing up for unwanted mail solicitations.
Often, it means steering clear of filling out forms at events you might go to.
As an example, you go to a sporting event and some companies are there with their booths. You fill out a quick form that allows you to enter a contest for a new car. Before you know it, you start getting regular mail and email (see more below) solicitations.
The best way to avoid this issue in the first place is to not put your name on the dotted line.
3. Email solicitations
Much like regular mail solicitations, email ones can be quite a pain in the neck too.
With laptops and desktops, not to mention mobile devices, it is easy to get many solicitations. As such, your email box can end up being overrun with sales pitches before you know it.
If you find certain companies targeting your email box, you do have the option to block them. Doing so will mean less spam mail finding its way onto your computer.
With many computers, the systems built into them already remove much of the spam mail to begin with. It falls into your spam folder. Once it is there, deleting it will make life easier on you.
4. Door-to-door solicitations
Although not as frequent in most cases, door-to-door solicitations exist.
The best way to steer clear of them is to put a sign in front of your place that alerts solicitors you are not interested.
Sure, some of them will still knock in hopes of making a sale, but ignore them.
Last, always be on the lookout for potential scams that can come either in the mail or over the phone.
Such cases are especially true as it pertains to senior citizens.
If you have older parents who could be targets, be sure to help them avoid such situations as best as possible.
At the end of the day, sales pitches are a part of the business world.
That said it does not mean you have to accept them.
