All you Need to Know About the World Series of Poker’s Most Exciting Competition – Colossus II

If you consider yourself a poker fan – chances are that the World Series of Poker is well and truly on your radar! Starting on May 31st and running for 50 days until July 18th, the World Series will see all of the sports’ major players in one place – the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, under the bright lights of Las Vegas’ infamous strip.

For those of you planning on being in town – did you know that there is big money to be won in the tournament’s hugely popular Colossus II tournament? A $1,000,000 first-place prize, and $7,000,000 in guaranteed prize money for a buy-in of just $565, to be exact.

Taking important feedback into consideration regarding last year’s competition, organisers have changed the format of the 2016 competition slightly. For one, there will now be six starting flights over the course of three days – June 2nd– June 4th. Should you want to take part in Colossus II, you must register your interest in advance. If you fail to progress at the first round, the rules have been altered slightly to allow participants to enter into more than one flight.

The no-limit, Texas Hold’em tournament is the World’s largest live poker event. The World Series of Poker are also running a full slate of online satellites, allowing people to buy-in to the competition from wherever they are located in the world for as little as $10. If you’re interested, keep you eye out for their weekly qualifiers, which take place every Sunday.
