But doing that means that you miss so much, even the block of the Magnificent Mile, which starts near the Four Seasons.
There are some superb places to visit in the city. Consider, for instance, the Willis Tower (known to many as the Sears Tower), which is the western hemisphere’s tallest building. Head 103 floors up to the Skydeck and you can see all of Chicago. And the women and men who work here are known for their friendliness, gladly explaining what you are looking at.
You also can’t miss the Art Institute of Chicago. It has a diverse collection of art, but the impressionist collection is perhaps on the best around. You can see works by some of the world’s greatest artists as well. Plus, if you enjoy fine dining, then the Terzo Piano restaurant at the museum is not to be missed. The Garden Café is also available for light snacks and lunches.
For architecture lovers, Chicago will be like Mecca. Hyde Park, for instance, next to the University of Chicago, has homes that were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, who is known for the modern style. Plus, you can walk from there to the Museum of Science and Industry as well. Here, kids and adults alike can take part in interactive lessons. Travel down a coal mine, take part in the silver streak, and drive the pioneer Zephyr, for instance.
There are hundreds of museums to choose from in Chicago. Three great ones like to the south of Grant Park, being the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and the Field Museum of Natural History. Plus, you will be near the shore of Lake Michigan, where you can stop for a break.
